Job Title: Quality Control Lab AssistantJob Description
Join our team as a Quality Control Lab Assistant, where you will support the preparation of materials for testing and assist professional and certified individuals in conducting various laboratory tests. This role involves managing samples, utilizing front-end automation, and ensuring accurate storage and retrieval from archives for additional testing. You will also be responsible for preparing buffer materials, operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, and handling computerized inventory management systems.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in the preparation of materials for testing.
+ Aid professional or certified individuals in performing laboratory tests.
+ Receive, process, and record information from collection centers.
+ Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.
+ Dispose of samples properly into biohazard containers after testing.
+ Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation within the assigned department.
+ Use the laboratory computerized inventory management system to locate, track, and determine the testing status of samples.
+ Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies and notify the supervisor of inventory needs.
Essential Skills
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Data entry proficiency.
+ Laboratory inspection capabilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Laboratory experience or a background in production line work is preferred.
Work Environment
This position is based in a laboratory setting within a donor processing and manufacturing facility. The work environment includes a standard daily operating rhythm, and there is no requirement for on-call duties or STAT labs typical of hospital settings. Shifts are set, providing a consistent work schedule. First day orientation typically occurs on Mondays from 10 am to 12 pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.66 - $17.66/hr.
