Job Title: Antenna EngineerJob Description

Your mission is to accelerate the development of novel antenna technologies at the core of next-generation approaches to LEO satellite communications. You will be responsible for research, simulation, design, optimization, testing, and calibration, leading to the rapid deployment of these technologies in an operational satellite constellation.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct research, simulation, design, optimization, testing, and calibration of antenna technologies.

+ Lead the deployment of novel antenna technologies in operational satellite constellations.

+ Utilize electromagnetic simulation tools like HFSS, CST, or FEKO for design and testing.

+ Apply system simulation tools such as Python or MATLAB.

+ Conduct range testing and operate relevant test equipment.

+ Design electronically scanned antennas and compact antennas such as patches and horns.

+ Collaborate with a team to explore RF design analysis using automation.

Essential Skills

+ At least 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree in engineering with an emphasis on electromagnetic theory and/or microwave circuits.

+ Strong understanding of electromagnetics and optics in microwave systems.

+ Experience in designing electronically scanned antennas.

+ Expertise in HFSS, CST, or FEKO.

+ Ability to operate system simulation tools like Python or MATLAB.

+ Familiarity with RF/microwave systems, particularly 10.7 GHz – 51.4 GHz.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience developing reflectarray or transmitarray antennas.

+ Experience designing antennas for PCB manufacturability.

+ Experience with passive RF component characterization.

+ Experience with near-field antenna range testing.

+ Experience with advanced beamforming methods.

+ Experience with space-qualified systems.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position located at our headquarters in Long Beach, CA. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a focus on innovation. The office maintains a good energy with occasional company events, catered lunches, and always available snacks and beverages. The office follows an open format to encourage communication. There are around 15 full-time employees, and the company offers benefits such as gym membership deals, medical, dental, vision, and 401k. The expanding office includes a lab for testing, and while some remote work is possible, on-site presence is required during testing phases.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Long Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $240000.00/yr.
