We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Design Engineer who can work independently and manage projects with a priority mindset. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. The ideal candidate will be passionate about rockets and aerospace, and possess a high level of detailed documentation skills. You will easily take direction and get the work done efficiently.
Responsibilities
+ Manage and execute projects independently with a priority mindset.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including operations, safety, and facility management.
+ Ensure high-level detailed documentation is maintained throughout project lifecycles.
+ Demonstrate passion and dedication for rockets and aerospace projects.
+ Design and optimize mechanical systems using CAD tools such as NX and Teamcenter.
+ Install tooling and heavy equipment efficiently and safely.
+ Utilize rigging techniques and oversee the safe use of overhead cranes.
+ Coordinate with crane operators to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
+ Assess and optimize workspaces for effective accommodation of mechanical carts.
+ Plan facility layouts and resolve space constraints effectively.
+ Communicate installation progress and manage space management challenges.
+ Identify and implement solutions for potential installation obstacles.
+ Adapt to dynamic environments and manage evolving project requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in CAD tools, specifically NX and Teamcenter.
+ Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
+ Experience in the installation of tooling and heavy equipment.
+ Familiarity with rigging techniques and safe use of overhead cranes.
+ Knowledge of overhead crane operation, load calculations, and safety standards.
+ Ability to coordinate with crane operators and ensure regulatory compliance.
+ Proficiency in assessing and optimizing workspaces for mechanical equipment.
+ Experience in facility layout planning and resolving space constraints.
+ Strong communication skills to relay progress and challenges.
+ Aptitude for identifying and solving installation obstacles.
+ Flexibility to work in dynamic environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
+ 2.5+ years of relevant experience in design and manufacturing.
+ Experience with innovative projects and automation processes.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in McHenry, MS, supporting the RMS division. The work week typically consists of 40-55 hours, starting with a mandatory onsite meeting at 7:30 AM. A 30-minute lunch is provided, and the day usually wraps around 4:30 PM. While the workload is substantial, there is a conscious effort to limit exposure to energetics, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule.

This is a Contract position based out of Mc Henry, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $73.00/hr.
