    Job Title: Construction Project Manager

    Job Description

    The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation of field installation subcontract packages, ensuring the safety and quality of subcontractor work, and monitoring project activities to support the overall schedule. The manager will review project designs to identify potential changes and collaborate with contract personnel to approve contract change notices. Ensuring compliance with work rules and maintaining a ZERO accident philosophy is essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure quality of work performed and identify critical items that may impact the project work schedule.

    + Review project design and identify constructability issues to minimize potential scope changes post-award.

    + Monitor and ensure contractors' work is executed safely and cost-effectively.

    + Assist in the preparation of field installation subcontract packages.

    + Monitor all projects for compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

    + Inspect ongoing work activities to confirm contractor performance to project plans and specifications.

    + Review contractor progress and critical path activities through regular meetings.

    + Assist with planning and establishing project schedules, tracking performance against estimates.

    + Support Outage & Project Management efforts to bid, evaluate, and award work packages.

    + Oversee all contracted scopes of work in power plant facilities and heavy industrial areas.

    + Assign duties and responsibilities to contractors and subcontractors and track progress.

    + Perform any other duties or special assignments as directed by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Commercial construction and facilities/commercial construction experience.

    + At least 10 years of experience in heavy industrial/commercial construction or construction management.

    + Knowledge of construction codes/standards such as AWS, ASTM, and OSHA.

    + Experience in writing contract scopes of work and working with contract administrators.

    + Strong leadership qualities and team-building skills.

    + Technical knowledge of mechanical/electrical and/or civil/structural systems.

    + Experience with computerized work management systems.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Minimum high school education with construction management training required.

    + College degree in a relevant field is preferred.

    + Previous General or Mechanical Contractor license holder is advantageous.

    + Ability to plan and organize Mechanical and Civil/Structural projects.

    + Cross-training in project management, planning, estimating, bidding, and scheduling.

    Work Environment

    The role requires handling multiple duties and responsibilities, with accountability for actions. Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, and weekends during planned or forced outages is necessary. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors, potentially exposing employees to inclement weather, cold, heat, humidity, and high noise levels. Travel to various locations within Energy Supply, such as Bayside, Big Bend, and Polk Power Stations, as well as commercial building sites throughout Hillsborough and Polk County, is required.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Apollo Beach, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

     

    PTO, Paid Holidays, mileage reimbursement

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Apollo Beach,FL.
