    Michelle Espejo with Robert Half Financial Services is recruiting a Family Office Senior Accountant for a fast-growing real estate investment and development firm in San Francisco. This full-time, permanent role offers a hybrid schedule and the chance to make a visible impact in high-demand markets. The firm is known for thoughtful design, sustainable projects, and strong industry relationships.

     

    You’ll work alongside the Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, and long-term tax and investment planning for the family’s entities and portfolio. Collaborating with ownership and trusted advisors, you’ll tackle meaningful projects, streamline reporting processes, and contribute to strategic financial decisions.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage accounting and financial reporting for investment funds and property portfolios

    + Maintain general ledger across residential and commercial assets

    + Oversee payments, bank accounts, and capital calls for alternative investments

    + Prepare documentation for tax filings and external service providers

    + Supervise offshore and outsourced accounting teams

    + Support year-end tax preparation and long-term tax planning, including 1031 exchanges and opportunity zones

    + Develop clear investment performance reports and strategic insights

    + Improve financial reporting methods and tools

    + Lead special projects like renovation tracking, process improvements, and reporting automation

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    + 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in family offices, partnerships, or high-net-worth tax

    + Strong knowledge of tax codes, reporting, and current tax law changes

    + Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi Voyager, QuickBooks) and Excel

    + Comfortable with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and cloud collaboration tools

    + Clear communicator with attention to detail and ability to handle evolving priorities

    + High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
