Description We are looking for a skilled Data Reporting Analyst to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive reporting solutions that support business decision-making. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a strong analytical mindset and expertise in data reporting tools.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineers to identify reporting requirements and develop tailored solutions.
• Translate business needs into data specifications and reporting formats, including dashboards, scorecards, and tabular data.
• Create, deploy, and maintain reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Visual Studio, and Report Builder.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient data extraction and reporting.
• Assess report requests for alignment with business objectives and recommend enhancements to improve data usability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report errors, discrepancies, and data inconsistencies.
• Document and catalog reporting processes to ensure clarity and accessibility for future reference.
• Conduct complex data mining exercises and interpret findings using advanced analytical techniques.
• Respond to user service requests related to data and reporting, providing timely solutions.
• Participate in project initiatives and perform quality assurance testing to ensure reporting accuracy. Requirements • Extensive experience with SQL Server development and advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) skills.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Builder, and Visual Studio for data reporting solutions.
• Strong background in conducting structured business data analysis and intermediate knowledge of data modeling.
• Familiarity with data analytics and report writing within the mortgage or financial industry is preferred.
• Ability to understand business needs and build trust through effective communication and solutions.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Experience with tools such as Apache Spark, Atlassian Jira, and BusinessObjects Technologies is a plus.
