The Program Director of K-12 School Design and Construction will provide strategic leadership and guidance to the team including sub-consultants throughout the duration of the Program involving new construction, and renovation. Taking over the helm as the incoming Program Director, they are expected to accomplish transformative change to the project. The PD will lead the project to a profitable and stable position. Client satisfaction, projects designed and construction within budget, team happiness and profitability will be the key performance indicators.
• Implement and document proper procedures for executing the oversight for the design and construction program.
• Responsible for complete compliance with the team's contract with the client.
• Monitor and communicate the status of budgets, schedules, and quality of the team's work to the client and Jacobs on a monthly basis.
• Provide advice and recommendations regarding cost, design, construction, procurement, construction issues, schedules, and other conditions.
• Understand the requirements and duties of each staff member.
• Build a cohesive collaborative team of professionals.
• Understand and monitor Value Engineering and its impact on the community.
• Manage teams of architects project managers, and contractors.
• Exercise responsibility to the client's staff for full implementation of assigned projects and duties of the team.
• Ensure that the client's Processes and Procedures are being followed.
• Ensure that coordination is effectively and efficiently performed between program management team and the client's staff and employees.
• Coordinate and collaborate with Construction Services' Staff and other departments.
• Must be present onsite.
• Must travel to construction sites, meetings with principals, meetings with communities.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, or construction management
• 15-20 - years of relevant verifiable experience.
• Must have experience as an owner's representative.
• Ability to oversee design and constructability reviews.
• Ability to effectively work with diverse communities, especially low-income neighborhoods.
• Ability to effectively work with School board members and superintendents.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven successful leadership skills.
• Flexibility to adjust to client's changing requirements.
• Ability to physically work in client's environment.
• Must have experience with community engagement, charities, and workshops.
