Job Description:
The Senior Demand Response Analyst is a pivotal role responsible for transforming raw data into actionable intelligence that drives the strategy and optimization of Tri-State’s Demand Response (DR) portfolio. This position goes beyond program coordination to conduct deep-dive analysis on interval load data, lead measurement and verification (M&V) processes, and provide critical insights that inform program planning and member value. This role requires collaboration with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders and includes travel to member cooperatives throughout the Tri-State territory to build partnerships and provide direct technical support. The successful candidate will be a curious, data-first problem solver who thrives on finding patterns, telling stories with data, and ensuring the financial and operational integrity of the DR program.
**Note** : There is one position available, and this position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: Demand Response Analyst I, job grade 7; Demand Response Analyst II, job grade 8; Demand Response Analyst III; job grade 9 or Senior Demand Response Analyst, job grade 10. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Hiring Salary Range: $106,000-$135,000
Demand Response Analyst III
Hiring Salary Range: $96,000-$121,000
Demand Response Analyst II
Hiring Salary Range: $86,000-$108,000
Demand Response Analyst I
Hiring Salary Range: $77,000-$96,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education and/or skill level.
Responsibilities:
+ Assist with demand response programs to increase resource optimization. Ensure appropriate system configuration and adequate system maintenance to maintain effective operations.
+ Architect and manage the end-to-end data pipeline for the DR program from member meter data acquisition to our internal DERMS (OATI) and reporting platforms.
+ Design, build and maintain automated data validation processes to ensure highest quality of interval data for settlement and M&V.
+ Serve as a liaison between Tri-State’s DERMS and member coop systems.
+ Review and validate technical specifications in vendor and member agreements related to data and performance.
+ Participate in consumer organizations, committees, and other energy groups to share information and provide opportunities to be effective and responsive to community needs.
+ Create complex data visualization (e.g., interactive heat maps, load shapes) to illustrate system usage, DR effectiveness and additional insights.
+ Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships, which includes travel to member sites for meetings.
+ Document all data processes, integration points, and M&V methodologies for the development of documentation and manuals.
+ Provide Energy Markets with accurate, reliable data for scheduling power and controlling load through demand response installations. Provide the member cooperatives with the same data to employ reliable demand response control.
+ Prior experience in any of the following is highly desirable: demand response platforms (e.g. DERMS), SCADA systems, communications networks, information technology operations.
+ Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of regulations, laws, standards, and best practices applicable to functional area.
+ Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

Qualifications:
Education and Training:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics/Finance, Business, Project Management, Environmental Science, Physical Science or related areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

+ Working knowledge of regulations impacting electric utilities.
+ Understanding of demand response, load flexibility, and electrification trends in energy markets.
Experience
+ Eight (8) years’ experience in the Electric Utility industry with knowledge of, and an active interest in the technological advancement of some combination of the following: fossil generation, wind generation, solar generation, fuels systems, environmental controls, environmental impacts, substations, transmissionlines,bulkanddistributedenergystorage,interconnectedsystemoperations,energymarkets, communications, and end-use. **Note** : The above requirements describe the experience and education qualifications for the Senior Demand Response Analyst. Those with less experience will be hired at the I, II or III job grade level.
Other:
+ Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver’s license.)
DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
+ Knowledge of demand response, program development and deployment, performance tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
+ Two (2) years’ utility DR/EE/DSM customer program management experience preferred.
