JOB SUMMARY
The Multimedia Specialist for Vital Statistics is responsible for creating personalized visual and digital tributes that honor and celebrate the lives of those who have passed. This position plays a vital role in the memorial experience by producing high-quality video slideshows, printed programs, announcements, and digital content for funeral and memorial services.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Collaborate with families to gather photos, music, and personal content for custom memorial slideshows and tribute videos
+ Design and print memorial folders, guestbook, and funeral announcements.
+ Develop and maintain templates for service programs and forms used in planning memorial materials
+ Set up and operate audio/visual equipment for services (e.g., projectors, screens, sound systems)
+ Coordinate digital displays or tribute monitors at service locations
+ Work closely with funeral directors and administrative staff to meet service deadlines
+ Handle sensitive information with confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism
+ Coordinate all necessary assistance at time of need for Muckleshoot Tribal members/Community during their time of loss
+ Coordinate funeral services, keeping in communication with Church Leaders, Enrollment, Finance, Fisheries, General Services, Grave Diggers, King County Sherriff, Pallbearers, Planning, Reality, TC Support Staff, Tribal Cooks, Veterans, and Wildlife
+ Assist families with funeral flyer announcement, slide show, funeral program, casket selection, Pendleton blanket selection, burial location, and obituary
+ Recording information about the deceased, including dates of birth and death, cemetery burial information, cause of death, medical history, and family details
+ Act as a liaison between Muckleshoot Tribal Families and local vendors, such as Funeral Homes and Headstone manufactures
+ Provide emotional support and professional guidance to grieving families throughout the planning process
+ Maintains records, templates, and digital achieves for service materials
+ Must be available to work occasional evening and weekends as required for funeral services and events.
+ Responsible for creating and maintaining all necessary documentation related to funerals, including but not limited to checklists, headstone orders, and memorial records.
+ Perform all general office duties during times when no funerals are scheduled, including answering phones, managing files, and assisting families with inquiries.
+ Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION
Required:
+ High School Diploma
+ 6 years’ experience in event planning, customer service, or family support roles
+ Proficiency with design and media tools (Canva, PowerPoint, iMovie, Animoto, or Adobe Suite)
+ Experience with live streaming software and A/V Hardware
Preferred:
+ Background in funeral services, hospitality, or counseling
+ Familiarity with cultural, spiritual, or religious services practices
+ Customer Service background, especially in high-empathy settings
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Skills:
+ Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
+ Strong organizational and time-management abilities
+ Empathy and professionalism in working with grieving individuals and families
+ File management, data entry and scheduling
Ability:
+ Manage multiple tasks with emotional sensitivity and discretion
+ Work occasional weekends or evenings
+ Emotionally sensitive work setting with high levels of client interaction
+ To work under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
+ Ability to weave together photos, video clips, and text to create meaningful, coherent tribute
Knowledge:
+ Basic understanding of projectors, sounds systems, monitors
+ Writing or proofreading service announcements, obituaries, and program content clearly and respectfully,
+ How to properly format, proof, and print programs or large scale visuals with professional finish
+ How to build reusable, customizable templates for frequent use in folders, announcements, and obituaries
+ Understanding the importance of handling personal family stories, photos, and information with care and respect.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must frequently lift carry and/or push/pull up to twenty pounds (20 lbs.). The employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to grasp, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally may sit to perform administrative tasks.
Licenses or Certifications Required
