Job Summary

As a Junior Software Developer you will be responsible for assisting with software development, maintenance, and support tasks.

Job Description

We are looking for a **Junior Software Developer** to assist with software development, maintenance, and support tasks. **This position will be full-time, long-term contract, and onsite.**

What You’ll Do

+ Responds to help desk tickets and work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software

+ Performs analysis, maintenance, programming, and support work on modules of existing systems under close supervision

+ Codes and unit tests software components based upon detailed specifications

+ Prepares flowcharts and block diagrams and codes program modules for application systems development

+ Maintains production application programs/program modules as necessary

+ Develops and maintains program documentation

+ Tests and verify the function and performance of new software and changes to existing software

+ Designs, builds, and maintains websites using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media

+ Debugs software problems following defined procedures

+ Identifies, documents, communicates, and solves problems with new and existing software

+ Develops design logic for individual programs

+ Maintains essential records and files

What You'll Need

Required:

+ 1 year of software development experience

+ Knowledge of programming languages such asJava,Python, orJavaScript

+ Familiarity withweb developmentframeworks and tools

+ Basic understanding ofsoftware testingprocesses and methodologies

+ Ability to troubleshoot and debug software issues

Preferred:

+ Experience with state or local government systems

+ Familiarity withcontent management systemsand website development tools

Physical Demands

+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc

+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$32-$35 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
