A Snapshot of Your Day
The General Machinist (2nd shift) is responsible for the machining, fit-up, assembly, and
quality of a wide variety of parts for compressors and associated
components. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing
multiple part setups, machining the parts complete and inspecting them daily
for one of our critical part families!
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Plan, layout and perform allmachine operations on both conventional and N/C machines to construct,alter, repair, and finish a variety of parts. Maintain closetolerances.
+ Produce parts from past prints,samples, sketches or drawings and check work, using standard and/orspecial gauging devices to assure conformity and to maintain qualitystandards.
+ Deburr, file, grind, chip, andfit parts made from cast iron, cast steel, malleable iron, nodular iron,sheet, and bar steel. Remove burrs, fins and sharp edges usingbelt sanders, electric bench grinders, air operator rotary files, and handfiles.
+ Set tools and make alladjustments required on tooling, both standard and present, changingpresetting when necessary.
+ Operate material handlingequipment, such as, but not restricted to, hand truck, fork or lift truck,crane, hoist, etc. for incidental delivery or receiving or material to orfrom adjoining areas of the shop.
+ Diagnose and remedytrouble. Ensure coolant logs are maintained. Keepmachines clean and lubricated, following periodic check list forpreventive maintenance and aid in machine repair. Work areasare to be kept neat, clean, safe, and orderly.
What You Bring
+ Must have a High School Diplomaor GED that can be verified; 1-3 years of machining experience in amanufacturing environment is preferred.
+ Must be willing to work 2 nd shift and be flexible enough to work 1 st or 3rd shifton occasion as business requires.
+ Must demonstrate the ability toread and interpret blueprints and solid math skills to take precisemeasurements and make calculations.
+ Have a general knowledge andunderstanding of machining and CNC programming methods and familiaritywith Microsoft Office Suite, with basic to intermediate computer skills.
+ Display an attitude conduciveto progress through positive change, continuous improvement, and activecontributor to the teamwork concept.
+ Mustbe able to demonstrate oral and written communication skills and problem-solvingskills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
