MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

_As a Systems Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role in these work areas:_

+ Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems

+ Provide engineering support for the systems administrator for systems issues that have been escalated and communicate status to agency management

+ Work across teams, and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during infrastructure buildouts

+ Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific engineering projects

+ Develops solutions to a variety of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity

+ Perform systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end

+ Oversees moderately complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools

+ Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis

+ Performs continual maintenance of security, including backup and redundancy strategies

+ Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects

+ Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology

+ Conduct system requirements reviews

+ Develop Systems architectures

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

_Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The_ **_Systems Engineer_** _must have:_

**● Education:** Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

**● Experience:** 2+ years of related experience

• Required Skills:

+ Experience with Active Directory

+ Experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems

+ Understanding of Project Lifecycle Management

+ Understanding of Configuration Management

+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

+ Good communication and presentation skills

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

+ Prior Real-time operations/systems experience

+ Ability to compose functional requirements/specifications documents.

+ Ability to guide the selection, implementation, and deployment processes for new technology rollouts.

+ Ability to respond to after-hour calls (“provide on-call support")

+ Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

• Preferred Skills:

+ Advanced Level Certifications, including at least one advanced certification from a Cloud Provider

+ Hands-on experience with automation tools

+ Experience with Splunk, Science Logic, Service Now, F5 Load Balancers

+ Familiarity with Network Infrastructure

+ Experience with SQL database queries and troubleshooting

+ Backups (VEEAM, NetBackup, Unitrends)

+ Scripting and coding experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, GIT)

+ Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud providers

+ Familiarity with security baselines (i.e. CIS Benchmarks or DISA STIGs

+ Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization

**● Security Clearance Level:** None, but the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher clearance is preferred.

**● Location:** State of Louisiana.

The likely salary range for this position is $82,283 - $111,323. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
