TEKsystems is looking for a Federal Project Manager

This is a hybrid role based in San Diego, CA (or Torrance, CA) with travel required. Our client offers long-term stability, growth, and exposure to federal projects in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

Top Skills:

+ Intermediate level of Project Management experience in federal environments

+ Strong infrastructure experience – Cisco ASA, Aruba ClearPass/ISE, Fortinet

Job Description:

We’re seeking a Federal Project Manager to lead infrastructure-focused projects. This role involves full lifecycle project management, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on coordination with engineering teams.

You’ll manage documentation, compliance tracking, and daily logistics while supporting installations of fiber, network servers, firewalls, and security systems. Travel is required (up to 50%) and includes both domestic and limited international sites.

+ Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

+ Certifications: PMP required (can be in progress)

+ Tools: MS Project, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, ProCore (training provided)

+ Work Environment: Hybrid – onsite Mon/Tues/Thurs; initial commute to Torrance on Mondays for first 3 months

+ Compensation: $130–150k/year + project-based bonus

Performance Expectations

Role: Federal Project Manager

Description of work to be performed:

Lead and manage federal infrastructure projects including network installations, fiber deployments (OSP/ISP), cybersecurity implementations, and coordination of onsite engineering activities. Responsibilities include documentation management, compliance tracking, and stakeholder communication.

Specified productivity speed/number of tasks/amount of material:

The role involves daily logistical coordination, documentation handling, and support for technical installations. Tasks include managing project paperwork, facilitating briefings, and ensuring compliance with federal standards.

Time frame for completion:

Project progress is tracked through weekly milestone updates and monthly executive-level reporting. Remote work eligibility is reviewed after 6 months based on performance. .
