Description
Our client is seeking a customer-focused AV/Desktop Support Specialist to join their IT support team. This role will primarily support our client's network of over 100+ video conferencing rooms in the Harrisburg area. The successful candidate will also provide general desktop and IT support when AV needs are not active.
Required Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of AV hardware and signal flow.
Experience with enterprise video conferencing systems.
Familiarity with AV control systems and basic programming/configuration.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and AV-over-IP concepts.
Proficiency in Windows OS and desktop support tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Audio-Visual Support
Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, video walls, and control systems.
Provide technical support for video conferencing platforms such as Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex, and Polycom.
Troubleshoot AV signal flow and cabling issues (HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, XLR, Cat5/6, fiber optics).
Configure and maintain AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron).
Collaborate with field staff to remotely support AV setups across the state.
Desktop & IT Support
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for Windows-based desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Assist with software installation, updates, and troubleshooting.
Support basic networking tasks including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
Utilize remote support tools such as Microsoft Remote Desktop to assist users statewide.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
Effective time management, especially during live events or meetings.
High attention to detail in setup and troubleshooting.
Collaborative mindset for working with IT, facilities, and event teams.
Certifications in AV technologies (e.g., CTS, Crestron, Extron).

This is a Contract position based out of Harrisburg, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
