We are seeking an accomplished part time Medical Director (20 hours per week) to join our leadership team. With a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and compassion, Richmond provides person-centered care across a continuum of residential, day, and health service programs throughout the region.

     

    The Medical Director will serve as a key clinical leader, guiding the delivery of high-quality healthcare and ensuring compliance with all OPWDD and DOH standards. This role is ideal for a physician who values integrity, collaboration, and mission-driven impact—while maintaining a flexible, balanced schedule

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide medical oversight and direction for all health services across residential and day program settings.

    + Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and administrative leaders to uphold best practices in care delivery and documentation.

    + Review and approve medical policies, standing orders, and training protocols for nursing and direct care staff.

    + Lead infection control, health and safety, and risk management initiatives to ensure continuous regulatory compliance.

    + Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews, contributing medical expertise to person-centered planning and treatment strategies.

    + Serve as a liaison with hospitals, specialists, and external healthcare partners to coordinate continuity of care.

    + Mentor clinical staff and promote professional development within the nursing and health services teams.

    Qualifications

    + MD or DO with current licensure to practice in New York State.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience; experience in developmental disabilities, long-term care, or community health preferred.

    + Comprehensive knowledge of OPWDD, DOH, and CMS regulations.

    + Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative management style.

    + Availability for a consistent 20-hour weekly schedule, with occasional flexibility for meetings or consultation.
