    DESCRIPTION:

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the college’s facilities and grounds.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and associated hardware

    + Installs, maintains, repairs, and renovates plumbing systems and fixtures

    + Assists with renovation and carpentry projects as assigned

    + Participates in the repair and maintenance of college equipment and vehicles

    + Supports grounds maintenance, including landscaping, applying herbicides/pesticides, and maintaining parking areas

    + Operates and maintains a variety of tools, equipment, and materials

    + Maintains accurate records and maintenance logs

    + Maintains fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and security systems

    + Coordinates the work of maintenance and custodial staff as directed

    + Responds to emergency repair requests

    + Performs other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    High School Diploma or GED AND one (1) year of experience.

     

    A high school degree or GED *and* One (1) year of experience in a skilled trade (electrical, carpentry, plumbing) or building maintenance.
