Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Type: 3 year Contract

Compensation: $80.00 hourly

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

System One is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer on a 3 year contract position located in Waynesboro, GA.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

+ Mechanical engineering designs on small and medium retrofit, environmental and new generation projects

+ Leading in conducting mechanical design activities including pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, valve selection, P&ID development, equipment layout, equipment specifications, and hydraulic calculations

+ Develop datasheets for valves and other equipment

+ Provide technical direction to designers

+ Develop project scopes, schedules and budgets

+ Make sound independent decisions with minimal information

+ Assist in checkout and startup of systems when necessary.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

+ Requires 20+ years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

+ A professional engineer license is desired.

+ Significant experience with design of new construction and/or retrofit of power generation or heavy industrial facilities

+ Ability to take the lead role for detailed design activities

+ Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles, proficiency with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements

+ Experience in development, preparation and checking of P&IDs

+ Experience with overall design and layout of piping systems, pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, equipment selection, preparation of inquiry packages/data sheets, and specification of tanks, pumps, and balance of plant equipment

+ Experience with hydraulic calculations.

+ Pipe-Flo (or similar software) experience is preferred

+ Significant working knowledge of processes equipment including piping, valves (manual/control/relief), pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers

+ Experience with relief valve and control sizing

+ Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
