+ Performance of skilled routine maintenance and repairs of BMX Track/athletic facilities, surfaces and grounds utilizing commercial-grade mowers and other specialized equipment
+ Performs proper maintenance techniques to ensure a safe BMX track, including maintaining the riding surface, spot repairs, painting lines, start gate repairs, timing system, and ramp repairs. Includes regular mowing, slurrying, watering, edging, and trimming
+ Able to use all types of hand tools, rakes, shovels, tampers, etc. Operates special equipment in the maintenance, repair, and renovation of athletic facilities, including: Tractors, Combinator, Box blades, Tillers, Laser Grader, Backhoe, Multi Pro Sprayer
+ Performs Athletic facility renovations on BMX Track, Baseball, Softball, Football, Soccer, Multi-purpose fields, and all associated amenities required per project
+ Routine Park maintenance includes hand weeding, mulching, digging, turf trimming, tree trimming, hand collection and disposal of litter, removal and installation of plant materials and trees, and driving on roads and vegetated maintenance areas. Some equipment will include diesel- or gas-powered commercial-grade landscape mowers such as Toro Outcross with Tow Behind Field Mower, Toro 4000D, 4500D, Reel Mower, and Toro 72 “Z” mower
+ Safely operate, fuel, perform general maintenance, change mower blades, clean equipment, perform small-engine repairs and safety checks on all listed equipment. These tasks will require the use of pneumatic, power and hand tools.
+ Maintains records of work performed, including submitting time to the work management system. Completes electronic reporting forms, including inspection reports, safety checks, incident forms, etc.
+ Work with staff, facilities maintenance, volunteers, and contractors to ensure the park and facility are clean, safe, and accessible for public use, and that maintenance areas are maintained to the desired level of service to promote local programming and sports tourism initiatives
+ Other duties assigned by the supervisor
About the Work Schedule
Work Hours:
+ Operating Days: Sunday - Saturday
+ Work Full-Time, 40 hours per week
+ 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shifts
+ Enjoy a flexible, rotating schedule that supports park operations and special events
+ Be ready to jump in for occasional evening or weekend shifts during exciting community events
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent education
+ Three (3) years of experience, education, training or any combination of experience, education and training in the renovation of athletic fields
+ Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire
Preferred "BONUS" Qualifications:
+ Previous experience with the renovation and/or maintenance of a BMX or athletic facilities
+ Operate special equipment in the maintenance, repair, and renovation of athletic facilities, including t ractors, combinator, box blades, tillers, laser grader, backhoe, multi pro sprayer, etc.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
Physical Demands: This position must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs, with the use of a handling device or working with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50 plus pounds.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay: $22.14/hr (Step 1)
Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.
