• Linux Engineer

    ManTech (Norfolk, VA)


    **MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Linux Engineer** to join our team onsite in **Norfolk, Virginia** . This is an onsite position.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    + Provide Tier 3 technical remote and onsite support and guidance to NCTE Range end-users, addressing IT-related issues and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

    + Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system configurations and network connectivity for Range POR systems.

    + Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and best practices, with a focus on maintaining a secure IT environment.

    + Familiarity with Active Directory in Windows environments.

    + Writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT systems and processes.

    + Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.

    + Strong understanding of Linux operating systems especially Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9.

    + Strong understanding of Linux filesystems and LVM.

    + Understanding of operation and updating of Red Hat Satellite.

    + Ability to work with DNS and DHCP and Windows/Linux environments.

    + Understanding of Red Hat patching methods.

    + Familiarity with backup systems a plus.

    + Understanding of Linux networking.

    + Familiarity with VMWare ESXi and able to work with virtual Linux systems.

    + Up to 25% travel can be expected.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant IT systems experience.

    + Experience in system administration, with proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments.

    + Must have CompTIA Security+ CE.

    + Must have a VMware, Windows, or Linux Operating System (OS) certification.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

    Clearance Requirements:

    + US Citizenship and active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

    + Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

    + The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
