Senior EDI Software Engineer
About the role
As a Senior EDI Software Engineer, Java, you will make an impact by designing and implementing solutions for healthcare data exchange using HIPAA X12 standards. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to support Member Enrollment and Claims Intake applications.
In this role, you will:
+ Develop and maintain HIPAA X12 transaction maps (837 P/I/D, 834, 835, 277CA, 270/271) using Edifecs tools.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
+ Create and customize guidelines and rules using SpecBuilder.
+ Implement translation maps using Map Builder aligned with **EDI 5010 standards.**
+ Participate in Agile ceremonies and apply methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
+ Support the development and enhancement of Member Enrollment and Claims Intake applications.
Work model
We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a Work from Home position at present due to Centene’s remote working policy. However, this arrangement may change in the future. The role is open to qualified applicants located in Plano, TX or Saint Louis, MO. What you need to have to be considered
+ 8 to 12 years of experience and strong experience with Java development.
+ Hands-on experience with Edifecs tools including Map Builder and SpecBuilder.
+ Deep understanding of HIPAA X12 transactions and EDI 5010 standards.
+ Experience in Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
+ Ability to create and customize guidelines and rules for EDI transactions.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
These will help you stand out
+ Experience working with healthcare clients or payers.
+ Familiarity with Member Enrollment and Claims Intake systems.
+ Ability to optimize EDI processes and improve data exchange efficiency.
+ Knowledge of additional integration tools or platforms.
Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $99k to $115k depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
