BPM Consultant – SAP S/4HANA Utility Implementation
About the Role:
As a Business Process Management (BPM) Consultant, you will make an impact by supporting a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation for a utility client. The consultant will lead process design, optimization, and transformation initiatives across core utility functions such as billing, metering, customer service, and field operations. This role requires deep expertise in BPM methodologies, SAP integration, and utility industry processes.
In this role, you will:
• Process Design & Optimization
• Lead workshops to capture current-state processes and define future-state models using BPMN and SAP BPDs.
• Develop process flows, step-level details, and key design decisions aligned with SAP S/4HANA capabilities.
• Map business requirements to SAP modules including IS-U, EAM, FSM, and C4C.
• Develop comprehensive project charters, schedules, and resource plans aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakehSAP Integration & Enablement.
• Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of BPM workflows with S/4HANA components.
• Support configuration, RICEFW development, and testing cycles including unit, integration, and UAT.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment between business, IT, and external vendors.
• Drive change management and training initiatives to support process adoption.
• Governance & Compliance
• Ensure process designs comply with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards relevant to the utility sector.
• Maintain traceability through Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and Business Process Master List (BPML).
Work Model:

What you need to have to be considered:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of BPM consulting experience, preferably in utilities or SAP environments.
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA modules and integration tools (e.g., SAP PO, BTP, BPM, BRM).
• Experience with utility-specific processes such as meter-to-cash, outage management, and asset lifecycle.
• Proficiency in BPM tools (e.g., Signavio, ARIS, IBM BPM, Appian).
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
These will help you stand out:
• SAP S/4HANA certification
• PMP or Lean Six Sigma
• Utility industry certifications (e.g., NERC, FERC compliance awareness)

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until **January 28, 2026** .
The annual salary for this position is between **$81,450 - $129,500** depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
