LTAC Registered Nurse (RN)
The LTAC RN is a highly skilled and compassionate nursingprofessional responsible for delivering specialized care to patients withcomplex, long-term medical needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment,attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patientcondition. The RN works closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, andsupport staff to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care in ahigh-acuity, extended-stay environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan,implement, and evaluate care for medically complex patients
• Conduct comprehensive assessments includingvital signs, physical exams, health histories, and monitoring of chronicconditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, woundcare, and other treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patients for signs of infection,respiratory distress, cardiac changes, and other complications
• Accurately document patient responses andchanges in condition in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to developand adjust individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diseaseprocesses, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain adherence to infection control, safety,and quality standards
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as sepsis,respiratory failure, or code situations
• Advocate for patients and uphold confidentialityand patient rights
Minimum Requirements
• Current Registered Nurse License in the state ofpractice
• Minimum one year of professional nursingexperience; LTAC, ICU, or Med-Surg experience preferred
• Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (ifapplicable)
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Proficiency in managing ventilators, wound care,and telemetry monitoring (if applicable)
• TB screening and health clearance (as required)
• Compliance with all federal, state, and localregulations
• Successful completion of new hire orientationand LTAC-specific training
• Understanding of patient confidentiality andHIPAA regulations
• Strong communication skills and proficiency inEnglish
• Basic computer literacy
• Must be at least 18 years of age
