Job Title: Special Education Teacher – Elementary

Start Date: ASAP (Estimated: 11/24/2025)

Duration: Through end of school year (potential extension into 2026–2027)

Schedule: Full-Time, 35 hours/week (hours vary by school)

Job Description:

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality services to students with special needs in grades K–12. This role requires a collaborative approach to planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Responsibilities:

+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

+ Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students with disabilities

+ Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet diverse needs

+ Monitor and assess student progress using IEP Online

+ Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and support staff

+ Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) teaching certification in Special Education

+ Required: Full certification (no conditional or provisional licenses)

+ Preferred: Endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)

+ At least 1 year of experience in a special education teaching role

+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
