Paraprofessional – Therapeutic Program

Duration: 2025–2026 School Year

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay: Up to $25/hour

About the Role:

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking dedicated Paraprofessionals to support in a School Based Therapeutic Program, which provides a continuum of therapeutic supports and specialized instruction. The program is designed to help students develop essential social-emotional skills while accessing academic content in mainstream classrooms. Students are grouped by grade clusters: 6th/7th and 8th grade.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking candidates who are committed to showing up each day and providing consistent, compassionate care to students with more intensive behavioral and emotional needs. Ideal candidates are deeply student-focused, with a strong desire to build meaningful relationships and contribute to a stable, supportive environment that promotes growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide direct support to students in both 1:1 and small group settings

+ Assist in implementing behavior support plans and academic activities

+ Collect and record data related to student behavior and progress using point sheets

+ Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster a positive learning environment

Qualifications:

+ Experience working with students with behavioral challenges

+ Skilled in de-escalation techniques

+ Familiarity with data collection and progress monitoring

+ Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a dynamic environment

+ Preference given to candidates with residential background experience and strong social-emotional support skills
