We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to serve asan independent contractor conducting Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA)disability assessments. This role is ideal for professionals seekingflexibility, autonomy, and a meaningful way to support our nation's Veterans.

+ Perform comprehensive eye exams and visual function evaluations in accordance with VBA protocols

+ Assess service-connected conditions such as ocular trauma, refractive errors, retinal disease, and other vision-related impairments

+ Document findings using standardized reporting formats—no treatment or follow-up care required

+ Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working with sensitive Veteran health information

+ Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution

+ Active and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the state of service

+ Prior experience with VA or disability assessments preferred but not required

+ Strong clinical documentation and interpersonal skills
