About the Role:
Amergis Staffing is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct SupportProfessionals (DSPs) to support individuals with developmental andintellectual disabilities across its network of group homes. This is ameaningful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by promotingindependence, self-development, and individuality.
Current Openings:
Full-Time:
+ 1 Opening
+ Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
+ Schedule: Monday–Friday & Every Other Weekend
Part-Time:
+ 18 Openings Total
+ 6 Openings: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Weekend Dayshift Only)
+ 6 Openings: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
+ 6 Openings: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide day-to-day support for individuals in group homes (2–4 residents per home).
+ Assist with personal care, daily activities, and medication administration.
+ Encourage independence and empower individuals to make choices.
+ Float between 2–3 group homes under the guidance of a House Manager.
+ Maintain accurate documentation using iCareManager (training provided).
+ Uphold behavioral support practices (MANDT training provided).
Work Environment:
+ Amergis DSPs will work in one of 10 group homes.
+ Flexibility is required to float between 2–3 homes, with full training provided before assignment.
+ 9 homes are located within 10 minutes of headquarters; 1 home is 20–30 minutes away.
+ Each home houses 2–4 individuals.
Requirements:
+ Experience: Minimum 6 months in a similar role; prior group home and medication administration experience highly preferred.
+ Certifications: CPR required; CMT preferred but not mandatory.
+ Training: Must be trained in DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) and MANDT (Behavioral Crisis Interaction Training). On-site training available.
+ Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Technology: Familiarity with EMR systems preferred; training on iCareManager provided.
Orientation & Onboarding:
+ First day includes HR onboarding and system setup.
+ Followed by a shadow day and virtual DDA & MANDT training.
+ Start days typically begin on Tuesdays, but Wednesday–Friday starts are also possible.
Additional Notes:
+ Time-off requests must be included in the profile cover and submission notes.
+ PRN (as-needed) positions also available for coverage when staff call out.
