Addiction Medicine Physician Needed in

The Addiction Medicine Physician is responsible for all medical services performed by the treatment center and will provide medical oversight and leadership to the varying clinical staff to ensure the quality of care is provided to patients. This physician will provide and/or ensure a physical examination of all patients upon admission and/or readmission, including, without limitation, annual physical exams and health exams, and reviews, at patients' request. The physician will issue any patient medication change orders and supervise nursing staff regarding changes in medication dosage via verbal or written orders. This Addiction Medicine Physician will also attend weekly treatment team meetings to discuss patient care and outcomes. Additional duties can be discussed.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Graduation for an accredited medical school as a Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
+ Licensed as a Physician in Maine in which the provider is practicing.
+ Will also consider an IMLC as long as the physician is willing to obtain a Maine license upon start of credentialing.
+ Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or any related field by a nationally accredited medical organization (e.g., American Board of Family Medicine - ABFM, American Board of Internal Medicine - ABIM) is preferred unless required by contract.
+ Board eligibility can be considered.
+ Some experience in substance abuse treatment preferred
+ Role may require collaboration with advanced practitioners per state/facility requirements.
+ Current and active DEA required
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice under licensure and scope.
