Job Type: Full-Time | Contract
Contract Length: 2025–2026 School Year (Ends May 22, 2026)
Start Date: November 3, 2025 (subject to onboarding timeline)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:20 PM
Hours/Week: 37.5–40 hours
Job Summary
Amergis Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join the team. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will provide high-quality services to students with disabilities in grades K–12. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction in a resource room setting and supporting inclusion in general education classrooms.
Responsibilities
+ Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with disabilities.
+ Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEPs.
+ Provide consultation and tutorial assistance as needed.
+ Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development.
+ Support classroom environments with rotating Teaching Assistants (TAs).
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
+ Valid North Carolina EC General Curriculum (K–12) teaching license (required).
+ State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following (preferred):
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred).
+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred).
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
