Job Focus Area
The Education Consultant 3 position, within the Louisiana Department of Education's Office of Early Childhood-Strategy division, is a high-impact role critical to achieving statewide kindergarten readiness. This opportunity focuses on supporting families through a unified early childhood system, specifically by leading strategic vision-setting, program design, implementation, and evaluation for coordinated enrollment and the family engagement framework.
Key competencies for success include expertise in strategic planning, program leadership, policy interpretation of federal and state regulations, and providing technical assistance and field support to local community networks and providers. This is an exciting and unique chance to directly influence the long-term vision of early childhood education in Louisiana, ensuring all families have better understanding of child development and child developmental milestones. This role will also develop professional development regarding curriculum, the early learning development standards, and family engagement.
Applicants with the following experience are encouraged to apply:
+ Expertise in Early Childhood System Policy (LDOE):
+ Demonstrated ability to lead program design, implementation, and evaluation for large-scale initiatives, specifically coordinated enrollment and family engagement frameworks.
+ Exceptional skill in conducting stakeholder outreach and relationship management, providing regular, targeted technical assistance, and facilitating community forums/meetings for various local leaders and agencies.
+ Experience in creating and managing oversight of development for public-facing websites (e.g., the early childhood family resource website), including content and technology.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Establish the strategic vision for the family engagement framework and associated pilots.
+ Provide insight and vision for statewide coordinated enrollment strategy, policies, and processes
+ Develop professional development regarding curriculum, the early learning development standards, and family engagement.
+ Provide technical assistance and field support to local early childhood lead agencies, LEA leaders, Head Start, and child care providers.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series has a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career andnot the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
