Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to manage top level processes/tools used to create, revise and release Aero-level engineering documentation for which the Materials Engineering (MatEng) group is responsible. These include Materials & Process specifications, certain supplier related technical documents, and engineering technical reports. The individual will actively support periodic maintenance of the Material Engineering tools such as Aero Specification Index (ASI), Engineering Source Approval (ESA) and the Environmental Compliance Tool (ECT).
Key Responsibilities
+ Data management of the Aero Specifications Index by uploading, editing, analyzing and maintaining spec data updated.
+ Monitor Changes in Site Specifications Indices and update the ASI when needed.
+ Monitor indices for Industry specifications and provide notification reports of revisions to Industry specifications (SAE, MIL, AWS, ASTM, etc).
+ Facilitate and coordinate team meetings to add and update site specification data, track project status, support development & tool improvements, and provide new user training.
+ Prepare training to engineers on applicable work instructions, work flow and best practices for Material and Process specifications, and support the development and technical writing of documents as required.
+ Provide support to general users with technical questions and resolve issues related to the Aero Specification Index tool, Engineering Source Approval and Environmental Compliance.
+ Work with other Material Engineer (MatEng) team members to ensure data synchronization between all MatEng Tools and address and resolve data inconsistencies as required.
+ Support engineering team in material analysis processes.
+ Developing, maintaining and improving tools and templates to facilitate the document approval process.
+ Develop and maintain good working relationships with content experts including training of these experts in the use and understanding specification structure and guidelines.
+ Communicating and coordinating with site representatives for review of specifications.
+ Facilitate communications & meetings to assist spec owners with comment resolution.
+ Maintain and update work instructions for specification administration.
+ Responsible for the Data management of the Environmental Compliance Tool (ECT) by uploading, editing, analyzing and maintaining spec data updated.
+ Support on the data entry of information for the Engineering Source Approval part workflow.
+ Interface with Honeywell resources and suppliers located at other sites around the globe.
+ Manage Material Engineering Tools Newsletter.
Travel within US and/ or internationally may be required
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
OU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor's degree.
+ +5 years experience in managing documentation tools, Data Management, Technical Documentation, Specifications & Engineering Drawing Interpretation Database Maintenance, and/or Managing Workflow and Approval Routes.
+ Due to export control regulations, this position requires US citizenship status (no dual citizenship)
WE VALUE
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or a closely related discipline
+ Experience reading, understanding and managing specifications and procedures is a plus.
+ Fluency in the English language (excellent verbal and written fluency required).
+ Excellent grammar and communication skills, particularly by phone or email.
+ Experience using Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
+ Able to interact with managers and other assistants within the department, and with peer departments.
+ Demonstrated success in simplifying and streamlining administrative processes and systems.
+ Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priority tasks simultaneously
+ Demonstrated ability to manage, follow-up, and bring closure to projects and actions.
+ An open, honest and team-oriented personality
+ Ability to work independently
+ Individuals who are self-motivated, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
