Description
Position Summary
As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial and accounting functions of CB?Emmanuel?Realty, ensuring robust financial controls, transparent reporting, strategic financial planning and strong operational partnerships. You will act as a key strategic advisor to senior leadership and the Board, overseeing capital allocation, risk management, forecasting and performance metrics-taking ownership of the firm's financial health and enabling sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timely closings and compliance with GAAP and regulatory obligations.
- Develop and drive financial planning & analysis (FP&A) processes: budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling, and variance analysis against operating plans.
- Oversee capital strategy including debt, equity, refinancing, and investment execution; monitor covenant compliance and external financing relationships.
- Establish, maintain and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies and procedures to safeguard assets and support scalability.
- Partner with operations, asset management and acquisitions teams to provide financial insights, drive business performance, identify risks and opportunities.
- Monitor cash-flow, liquidity, working capital, and fund-level metrics to ensure the firm's financial flexibility and stability.
- Support the Board and senior management with meaningful metrics, dashboards, business performance reviews and strategic recommendations.
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance and accounting team-building a high-performing function capable of supporting a growth trajectory.
Position Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5?–?7 years of experience in real estate, Affordable Housing, construction cost accounting, managerial and reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP), proven experience with financial reporting, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in capital markets, debt/equity financing, portfolio performance analytics and strategic financial management.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, Sage Intacct, NetSuite) strongly preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for business leaders and the Board.
• Proven leadership skills: strategic thinking, integrity, high business acumen and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
