    Job Description:

    Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) Finance is recruiting a Lead Financial Analyst to serve the new Biotherapeutics Manufacturing Facility (BioNC) located in Wilson, North Carolina. This position will be fully on-site.

     

    The Innovative Medicine Supply Chain organization is a leveraged structure that supports multiple departments and stakeholders across the J&J companies, with a focus on improving the lives of patients and delivering results that exceed expectations.

     

    J&J is expanding our manufacturing capacity with $2 billion investment to support strong portfolio growth and continue delivering breakthrough innovation and transformational medicines for patients. The new facility will expand production of innovative biologic medicines in areas including oncology, immunology, and neuroscience. J&J’s significant supply chain investment ensures a resilient and reliable future supply of medicines to meet accelerating demand for our current portfolio of medicines and our future innovations.

     

    We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically skilled Lead Financial Analyst to support the BioNC site’s financial operations. This strategic role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership across IMSC and Finance, providing critical financial insights for a state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical manufacturing site.

     

    In this position, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial analysis related to capital investments for designing, constructing, and commissioning the new site. You will play a key role in establishing robust accounting processes and leading all forecast and close activities. This role plays a key part in business decision-making, process improvement, and compliance.

     

    The role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, BioNC, and will also be a part of the MTO Large Molecule Platform Finance Team.

     

    While this role does not have direct reports and contributes primarily as an individual leader, there will be collaboration and informal people leadership opportunities with the broader IMSC Finance team on an ad hoc basis. A successful candidate will demonstrate agility, curiosity, and strategic leadership qualities, with opportunities for accelerated development across a broad range of finance competencies, including:

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the financial planning cycles including Annual Budget, Forecasts, and Long-Range Planning, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational realities.

     

    Own volume and absorption forecasting, partnering closely with Supply Chain to ensure integration with the S&OP process.

     

    Manage SG&A planning and analysis, including cost allocations (local/regional), depreciation, and headcount-related expenses.

     

    Perform variance analysis across key financial metrics (e.g. operating expenses), identifying drivers and recommending corrective actions.

     

    Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.

     

    Support monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate accruals, reporting, and commentary for senior leadership.

     

    Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions, including Commercial, Supply Chain, and R&D.

     

    Monitor capital investments, including financial evaluations, ROI analysis, and alignment with governance frameworks.

     

    Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and reporting to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and business impact.

     

    Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and corporate policies related to financial planning and reporting.

     

    Prepare executive-level presentations and dashboards for leadership reviews, highlighting financial performance, risks, and opportunities.

     

    Support strategic projects and ad hoc analyses, including assessments, cost optimization initiatives, and organizational transformations.

    + Has experience in managing financial processes related to capital investments and operational finance.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineer or related fields; CPA or CFA certifications are a plus.

    + Advanced English required (Spanish is a plus).

    + Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance, accounting, or related business experience is required.

    + Proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and capital project management.

    + Advanced knowledge in cost analysis, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

    + Knowledge about key financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, WWP) and routines (forecast and updates, closing, SOX, etc.).

    + Proven ability to work independently with strong initiative.

    + Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities and improve process efficiency is required.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Strategic mindset combined with a focus on continuous improvement.

    + Experience working with multifunctional teams and leading process improvement initiatives.

    + Strong understanding of manufacturing or biopharmaceutical industry finance is preferred.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Demonstrate experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies (desirable).

    + Position located on site in Wilson, NC and may require up to 10% travel
