Job Responsibilities:
The employee analyzes and interprets data using predictive policing methods to distill and disseminate information to various Criminal Justice agencies. The employee gathers and analyzes crime statistics and identifies criminal trends through statistical crime and mapping technologies. This position requires specialized knowledge in the field of crime analysis theories and crime analysis software. The Crime Analyst will direct 100% effort, as regular fulltime employee (40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year) assigned to the project for the fiscal year. The (Contract) Crime Analyst position is funded on DCJS through the local municipality and the term runs July 1st through June 30th for each contract year.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in criminal justice, criminology, data analytics, public administration, or a related field plus 0 -1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
+ A Master's degree in criminal justice, criminology, data analytics, public administration, or a related field plus 0-1 year of experience in the field of criminology, criminal justice research, or criminal justice policy,
+ **OR**
+ Bachelor's degree in a social science field plus 3 years’ experience in the field of criminology, data analytics, criminal justice research, or criminal justice policy.
+ Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
