What You'll Do
With overall direction from the manager of the BRCF Epigenomics core, this individual will work independently on investigator projects as part of the fee for service activity. This includes but is not limited to the development of assays, sample preparation services and quality control assessments. This individual will also work in collaboration with other BRCF cores for project throughput.

Responsibilities*
+ With overall direction from the manager of the Epigenomics Core, this individual will work on investigator projects as part of the fee for service activity of the core. This can include development of assays, sample preparation services and quality control assessments.
+ As directed and trained, will prepare samples for existing service offerings by the Epigenomics Core for Chip-Seq, Cut & Run, ATAC-Seq, library preparation for methylation assays, and bisulfite treatment for downstream applications.
+ Conduct nuclei isolation, DNA & RNA extraction and sample quality control via qPCR & Agilent TapeStation; perform other more complex assays as directed
+ Perform sample intake from clients, log samples into inventory, organize. Enter data into MiCores; work closely with other BRCF cores to complete projects.
+ Maintain equipment including calibrations and operation. Order stock supplies, solvents/chemicals; maintain of lab safety manuals.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor?s degree in science. Prior experience in molecular biology (minimum of 5 years) including some of the following techniques: nuclei isolation from frozen cells/tissues for ChIP-Seq and ATAC-Seq, nucleic acid extractions and quality control, PCR, quantitative PCR. Must demonstrate excellent skills in recording data, organizational skills in the laboratory, effective communication skills (both verbally and in writing) with customers from a diverse environment. Interpersonal skills are required to participate in our laboratory team that can include both the Epigenomics Core and other BRCF core facilities. The applicant should be detail oriented with a willingness to learn new skills, able to work independently and as part our team.
Desired Qualifications*
Master's Degree in science. Prior experience with epigenomics assays, Cut & Run and/or ChIP-Seq.

Background Screening
