Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for setting the strategic direction of the administrative team, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous professional development. The Executive Director will oversee and manage a team of leaders and individuals who are subject matter experts in their areas. The Executive Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the administrative team, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous professional development. Has accountability for the coordination and performance of the staff in the following department(s)/focal areas: Dean’s Office, Simon Technology Services, Building Operations, Faculty & Staff Affairs, Strategic Projects & Innovation, Academic Operations, and Instructional Technology and Innovation. The Executive Director works in close collaboration with the Dean, Simon’s Senior Financial Officer, and the Simon Senior Leadership Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Develops and implements strategic plans for the administrative functions of Simon set forth above, ensuring alignment with the overall goals and mission.
+ Leads the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
+ Serves as a key advisor to senior leadership on administrative matters, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
+ Represent the division(s) in high-level meetings and committees, advocating for administrative needs and contributing to University-wide initiatives.
+ Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external partners.
+ Ensures all administrative functions within the division(s) comply with University policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
+ Working in close collaboration with the Senior Financial Officer, develops and implements risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks related to finance, human resources, and operations.
+ Responsible for the administrative and operational affairs of the Dean's Office, as well as the Simon Technology Services (STS) team, and serves as a liaison to a variety of internal and external stakeholders related to both offices.
+ Oversees a broad range of academic operations to support the effective management, delivery, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
+ Oversees academic scheduling, instructional technology & innovation, and documentation related to program development, evaluation, accreditation, and other compliance issues. Ensures operational efficiency and alignment with institutional goals through strategic planning, policy implementation, and process optimization across academic programs.
+ Provides oversight to the Faculty Affairs Administrator and works in close collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean of Faculty and Research on the faculty administration strategy and execution for the division.
+ Directs the staff administration strategy for the division, ensuring alignment with the University’s overall HR policies and strategic objectives.
+ Handles employee issues in collaboration with Simon leadership and HR business partners.
+ Develops and implements professional development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the administrative team.
+ Oversees talent management processes, including recruitment, retention, performance management, and succession planning, to build and maintain a high-performing team.
+ Leads the development and implementation of initiatives that support employee engagement within the division(s).
+ Leads, mentors, and manages a team of professionals at various levels.
+ Fosters a collaborative and high-performing work environment that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
+ Provides guidance and support to the team in managing their day-to-day responsibilities, ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to succeed.
+ Oversees large-scale operational projects, including oversight of staff working on strategic projects and operations, space planning, office relocations, and facilities management, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
+ Collaborates with other senior leaders to optimize the use of resources and space across the division(s), aligning space planning with strategic objectives.
+ Facilities management and building operations that sit within STS.
+ Develops and implements robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure fiscal responsibility, compliance with regulations, and optimal use of resources within these administrative areas.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Master's degree and 8 years of management experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Proven track record of managing staff of various administrative disciplines as well as complex issues in a large organization required
+ Extensive experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a strong commitment to professional growth and development required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive change and innovation across the organization required
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities required
+ Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale operational projects and complex stakeholder relationships required
+ Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in administration within a university and healthcare setting preferred
+ Prior experience working through HR-related processes and issues strongly preferred
