    Job Summary

    Join a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment where you’ll play a key role in optimizing production schedules and driving operational excellence. This position is responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting scheduling challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring on-time delivery to meet customer and business goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives on balancing priorities and improving efficiency.

    What You Will Do:

    + Analyze and troubleshoot production scheduling issues to support efficient manufacturing operations.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, program management, engineering, and finance, to resolve product-related challenges and align with customer and business requirements.

    + Develop and manage complex production schedules, considering workflow, inventory levels, capacity constraints, and product quality to ensure operational excellence.

    + Monitor delivery timelines and capacity availability to meet production targets.

    + Conduct scenario planning and “what-if” analyses to support proactive decision-making.

    + Participate in weekly Global Solutions Timeline meetings to drive alignment, contribute to solution development, and support key decisions.

    + Operate as an individual contributor within the EPD Global Solutions Supply Chain Team.

     

    Degree Requirement

     

    4-Year Degree or equivalent/relevant experience is preferred

    What You Will Have

    + **Tactical and Strategic Planning:** Extensive experience and knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

    + Develops, refines, and communicates tactical plans for own responsibilities.

    + Provides the right level of detail as input for strategic plan development.

    + Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan.

    + Ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of existing departmental-level plans.

    + Plans for allocation of resources in line with unit goals, technical and business objectives.

    + Ensures the planning process is integrated with the overall business plan.

    + **Process Management:** Working knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.

    + Employs process flows, cycle time, process time and waste concepts as appropriate.

    + Walks through steps, decisions, measurements, dependencies and hand-offs for a specific process.

    + Creates process flow or work flow diagrams.

    + Documents types of process decisions and potential impact of each decision.

    + Identifies and monitors common process bottlenecks.

    + **Forecasting:** Working knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.

    + Participates in preparation of short-term forecasts for a specific product or site.

    + Gathers and analyzes demand data with specific tools and procedures.

    + Locates useful information and sources of input used in weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasts.

    + Researches seasonal trends for a major product or product line.

    + Explains common types of business conditions and activities that impact demand.

    + **Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP):** Extensive experience and knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.

    + Monitors total plant production scheduling vis-a-vis orders.

    + Evaluates considerations for synchronizing demand for products with production capabilities.

    + Participates in sequencing work to meet targeted delivery dates for multiple and critical orders.

    + Participates in setting parameters for reorders, min/max levels, lead days and job days.

    + Coordinates capacity and materials planning for net demand within a planning period.

    + Adjusts plans based on sales forecasts, custom orders and demand-driven orders.

    + **Production Scheduling and Control:** Extensive experience and knowledge of procedures and tools for scheduling and controlling production runs; ability to utilize knowledge of daily manufacturing processes to assure quality deliverables.

    + Manages the job cycle to ensure completion of jobs according to agreed-upon schedules.

    + Communicates with customers and sales staff on scheduled and unscheduled production work.

    + Resolves critical or costly workflow problem areas and recommends improvements.

    + Schedules and oversees all production runs for a specific plant or assembly line.

    + Produces master schedules for overall plant activities; shows all dependencies and contingencies.

    + Oversees production acceptance testing and associated performance measures.

    What Will Put You Ahead

    + Experience scheduling in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment

    + Proven ability to communicate effectively across multiple functions and stakeholders

    + Strong prioritization skills and adaptability to shifting customer requirements

    + Proficiency in SAP (intermediate to expert level)

    + Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and scenario planning

    Additional Information

    + This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

    + Travel up to 10% is possible.

    + Relocation is NOT available for this position.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $95,640.00 - $143,520.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
