This position serves our partners at Minnesota’s largest state agency, the Department of Human Services (DHS). The MNIT DHS team supports complex and varied technical needs, including systems that provide health care coverage, deliver child protection and welfare services, and provide support for Minnesotans with special needs including mental illness, chemical dependencies, and physical or developmental disabilities.
As the Systems Administrator, you will provide advanced technical leadership and support for the Minnesota Content Management (MCM) Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), a mission-critical enterprise system used statewide for document and content management. The incumbent ensures the system’s reliability, security, and performance through expert administration, configuration, and integration of components such as IBM FileNet P8, while leading upgrades, troubleshooting, and enhancement efforts in compliance with State IT and data privacy standards.
This is a Remote Worker position (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1447-remoteworker.pdf) , where the employees home address shall serve as their official work location and must be located within the continental United States. Remote work is a condition of employment.
Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in information technology performing professional work in systems administration, configuration, or integration of enterprise-level applications.
+ Experience with administering and supporting large-scale enterprise content management systems such as IBM FileNet P8 or equivalent.
+ Experience with system configuration, integration, and performance optimization across multi-tiered environments.
+ Experience with applying IT security, data privacy, and compliance standards, including HIPAA and State IT security policies.
+ Experience with diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues involving application, database, and infrastructure components.
+ Knowledge of enterprise IT environments and the ability to exercise sound technical judgment and independent decision-making in a large, complex organization.
+ Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
+ Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with IBM FileNet components, including Content Engine, Process Engine, Capture, and Document Import.
+ Experience with leading upgrades, migrations, and enhancements for enterprise-level systems requiring high availability and performance.
+ Experience with backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning and implementation.
+ Experience with coordinating and collaborating across technical teams, business partners, and vendors to deliver integrated IT solutions.
+ Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including Windows, Unix, and Linux servers, web servers, and relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.
+ Knowledge of workflow automation and document class design within enterprise content management environments.
+ Knowledge of technical documentation practices, configuration standards, and operational procedure development.
