    Job Description:

    This position is responsible for all the hospital operations in partnerships with the hospital CNO and CMO including oversight of capital and operating budgets, regulatory compliance, clinical performance, human resources management, service excellence, and other support services. This position is accountable for directing and achieving the goals of the hospital by assuming direct responsibility for the performance of assigned functions, completing projects as assigned and performing various duties with respect to the hospital board of trustees, medical staff, community, region, and corporation. They implement Intermountain Health policies, procedures, guidelines, services and manage all operations and activities of the hospital to ensure quality patient care (both clinical and service excellence) at an appropriate cost, meeting financial objectives.

     

    The individual in this position must reside in Las Vegas, Nevada or the greater Las Vegas area.

    Essential Functions

    + Compliance:Under the Governing Board's direction and Intermountain Health residual authority, the hospital president serves as the Hospital's chief administrative officer and is responsible for the Hospital's day-to-day operation. In this capacity, the Administrator has the responsibility and the necessary authority to perform the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the hospital's bylaws and all other things required of an executive officer to enable the Hospital to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements.Responsible for compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DOPL, and other department specific accrediting and certifying bodies.

    + Strategy Execution:Accountable to inform system strategic plan on specific needs to facility. Takes action to ensure implementation of strategic plan, adjusting to changing market and business needs.Partners in the strategy deployment process as part of a senior leadership team plus other leaders to ensure clinical programs, new clinical services, and clinical excellence objectives are achieved at the hospital. Exercises in the day-to-day administration, operation, and maintenance of the Hospital. Ensures that the Hospital's operations conform to Intermountain Healthcare's standards and programs, including its charitable, not-for-profit, and tax-exempt policies and purposes.

    + Financial Acumen:Coordinates preparation of and adherence to capital and operational budgets. Works closely with system finance to achieve hospital financial objectives.Maintains a list of all contracted services, including the scope and nature of the services provided, and reports to the Governing Board whether those services are performed in a safe and effective manner.

    + Community Stewardship:Accountable to achieve fundraising/philanthropy goals at the facility, in partnership with the Intermountain Foundation, and its local foundation boards/committees, where applicable.Leads out to create and maintain positive community relationships with key stakeholders to include elected officials, civic leaders, community groups, and more. May partner with other not-for-profit organizations with aligned missions to Intermountain to meet the health care needs of our communities.Responsible to work with local hospital boards in regard to the performance of hospital and to foster strong community relations.Responsible to ensure boards are representative of the community and well informed regarding hospital performance.

    + Resource Allocation:Ensures proper allocation of human resources to ensure quality care is provided in a cost-effective way. Responsible to work with HR leadership and other leaders to create and maintain a positive work environment that fosters a highly engaged workforce.

    + Clinical Excellence:Accountable, along with the hospital leadership team, to ensure hospital quality measures and other KPI and watch metric measures are achieved.Focuses efforts of departments on safety, quality care and regulatory compliance, plus internal standards and policies. Ensures hospital is compliant with all regulatory standards and laws.

    + Physician Talent Management:Partners with CMO to ensure high physician engagement and positive working relationships with physicians.Partners with appropriate departments to support physician recruitment.

    + Leadership Development:Facilitates the leadership development process for assigned hospital leadership team, including leadership coaching, succession planning, support development planning, and champions diversity through the development process.

    + Informed and Involved:Communicates and presents important operational information to and from areas of responsibility including leadership teams and caregiver groups.

    + Other duties: Accepts and performs additional duties to achieve Intermountain goals and performance standards.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Master's Degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

    + Ten years of experience in a progressively responsible leadership position within the healthcare industry.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + MBA or MHA

    + Experience in children's health hospital leadership

    Physical Requirements:

    Physical Requirements

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

    + Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

    + For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

     

    With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $7.25 - $999.99
