JOB SUMMARY
The Director Health Systems Sales will lead a Sales Manager and a team of Account Managers and Business Development Managers responsible for the continued development and growth of this strategic segment of sales opportunities. Hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) are a strategic growth priority for Evernorth Health Services (HSS). This Sales Director will be instrumental in expanding our Health System Offering, driving innovation, and accelerating revenue growth across this critical customer segment. This role replaces the existing Senior Manager position and elevates the strategic focus, emphasizing enterprise collaboration, consultative selling, and market expansion. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of strategic vision, operational execution, and relationship management to lead our efforts in the hospital and health system space.
As a Director Health System Sales, you will participate with other key account managers and sales management to develop sales strategies for large/national accounts and helps identify target accounts and opportunities within the framework of the organization-wide strategy for revenue growth. This key role will also ensure that market share for products related to strategic market in the non-acute space is strategically and tactically increased with consistency. Build and sustain trusted relationships with key stakeholders including pharmacy leaders, health system executives, and procurement teams. Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, delivering tailored solutions that meet evolving needs.
Strategic Sales Leadership
+ Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeting hospitals and IDNs.
+ Identify emerging market trends and translate insights into actionable growth initiatives.
+ Lead cross-functional strategic planning efforts to align sales goals with broader Evernorth HSS objectives.
+ Monitors competitive activity in each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and communicated.
+ May compile reports on customer retention, business opportunity and market trends for senior management.
+ This position is responsible for setting goals, expectations, and developing future strategies to maintain and enhance the quality the SAR team provides.
+ Focuses on implementing and executing strategies within own department/discipline/team.
+ Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives.
Internal Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
+ Partner across Evernorth, Carepath, Verity, Shields, Finance, Business Development, and Operations to ensure seamless execution and alignment.
+ Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Manage the day-to-day activities of a team of Sales representatives: Assist with the hiring process for all positions within their department. Monitor staff performance. Develop and mentor to ensure a high performance team. Conduct annual reviews, address performance issues, and reward achievements. Set goals, expectations, and develop future strategies to maintain and enhance the quality of support the team provides. Identify and implement best practices across the team. Motivate team members and maintain morale.
+ Manage the execution of team and cross-functional projects. Take an active role in managing projects from creation to finalization and meet all deadlines. Proactively identify opportunities for the team to become more efficient or add value to the sales organization.
+ Develop policies and procedures to document process improvement efforts. Make sure that all current and potential products relevant to this market are in focus, availability awareness is consistent and pricing through all channels is executed appropriately and in the best interest of the organization. Serve as a SME regarding current sales processes. Serve as a liaison for all cross-functional needs.
+ Support Sales Directors and Strategic Relationship Directors as assigned. Assist with evaluating bid quotes, GPO collaboration and RFPs for accuracy, timing and appropriate market positioning. Assist with the contracting and implementation processes for new clients. Assist with problem resolution of client/prospect issues by working with internal subject matter experts. Lead special projects as necessary.
+ Collaboratively communicate with sales reps and their prospects as needed to drive business. Guide communication with existing clients to ensure all relevant data is accurate and to organize quarterly review meetings, RFP’s or other events. Proactively identify training opportunities for the team and cross-functional partners.
+ Ensure effective rollout of new process improvements to the entire sales team and cross-functional partners. Develop and maintain training materials. Create and conduct new hire training. Conduct training sessions as needed.
+ Ensure the utilization and accuracy of data in the Saleforce system. Proactively identify opportunities to improve data integrity. Maintain policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy of the data.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ 8+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelors Degree or 5+ years of experience AND a Masters degree OR 11-14 years relevant working experience preferred
+ MS Office and database management experience
+ Knowledge of the Strategic Sales segment.
+ Understanding of the suite of products that impacts the practices in the PBM, Specialty Pharmacy, and/or healthcare space.
+ Awareness of market influences, competitive standings, pricing approaches, sales techniques, and available resources to access for success.
+ Must be able to drive collaborative efforts within Curascript and the Cigna umbrella of businesses when demanded.
+ Excellent organizational skills, Strong leadership and team building skills, Proven ability to manage projects against deadlines, Proven ability to multitask, Proven ability to work in a team environment.

CuraScript SD provides integrated delivery solutions for the safe and efficient distribution of specialty pharmaceuticals and associated medical supplies. With an expertise honed by more than 25 years in the Specialty Distribution business, CuraScript SD supplies biologics, branded drugs, generics, vaccines, infused medications and ancillary supportive care products for office or clinic administration to a wide range of medical providers – including physicians, infusion centers, acute care treatment centers and long-term care facilities.
_This is a hybrid role and will require the ability to work in-person. The ideal candidate will reside in Lake Mary/Orlando, FL; St. Louis, MO; Plano/Dallas, TX; or Chicago, IL._
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 153,600 - 256,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
