    Job Description

    Position Summary

    The CNC Maintenance Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to complete Maintenance, Repair & Operation (MRO) purchases as directed to support the business needs. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

    Principle Responsibilities

    + Communicates with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and third parties to obtain information on spare / replacement parts.

    + Obtain price and delivery quotations from suppliers. Maintain related MRO files for key equipment assets.

    + Expedite overdue/late deliveries as necessary.

    + Control MRO cost increases through price quotations and supplier negotiation.

    + Primary custodian for the spare parts inventory control system.

    + Participate in stockroom layouts, set up cabinets and shelves, and arrange drawers to maximize space utilization and to provide room for future growth.

    + Physically receive deliveries and restock the shelves, which may require operating a forklift.

    + Conduct periodic inventory audits.

    + Drive company truck to pick up / deliver parts locally.

    + Ship parts out for return or repair to include packaging up parts, taking package to the shipping department, and completing all paperwork and phone calls to coordinate pick-up.

    + Maintaining and updating of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

    + Assign part numbers and enter all parts information in CMMS.

    + Enter Preventive Maintenance (PM) instructions into the CMMS.

    + Enter completed PM work order information into CMMS for data collection.

    + Primary custodian of the manuals, prints, and equipment documentation

    + Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical documents.

    + Write routine reports and correspondence.

    + Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

    + Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    + Read and understand equipment & operating manuals along with spare part drawings.

    + Use inspection equipment such as calipers and micrometers.

    + Works in conjunction with and support outside suppliers and contractors.

    + Maintains confidentiality.

    + Work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.

    + Perform additional responsibilities as required by management.

    + Repair equipment as needed.

    + Communicate with outside contractor providing services such as equipment moves, decommission, recommission, setup and alignment as well as any services above our capability internally.

    Qualification Requirements

    Credentials/Experience:

    + Minimum three (3) years of experience with associate degree.

    + Or seven (7) years of experience with high school or GED shall also be considered. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, facilities repair and maintenance is required.

    + Forklift operator’s license is required; Michigan Driver’s License is required.

    Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

    + An Associate degree in an engineering technology, maintenance technology, or similar program or High School diploma or GED based on below experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Good understanding of manufacturing equipment and repair components.

    + Knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.

    + Knowledge of TPM principles and practices.

    + Basic understanding of inventory control practices (FIFO, Kanban, JIT, etc.)

    + Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic equipment and systems is required.

    + Basic CAD functions are desired.

    + Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand. The employee could frequently be required to walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
