SUMMARY
This position will ensure reliability, security, and performance across servers, endpoints, and cloud services while partnering closely with the IT Director and mentoring helpdesk staff. It will maintain and improve Microsoft-centric on-prem/cloud environment and act as primary escalation for complex incidents. Own Tier-2/3 troubleshooting; secure core services (AD, M365/Azure, servers, virtualization, backups); perform basic network tasks (switch/firewall) under change control.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Own Tier-2/3 incidents and problem records; deliver workarounds and permanent fixes (root cause).
+ Coach helpdesk staff on troubleshooting methods, SOPs, and quality standards.
+ Create/maintain knowledge base (KB) articles to reduce repeat escalations and improve first-contact resolution.
+ Administer Windows Server/Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and file/print.
+ Manage virtualization (VMware), storage platforms, and backup/restore operations (Veeam).
+ Operate and optimize Azure/Microsoft 365 (Entra ID/AAD, Intune/Endpoint Manager, Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive).
+ Coordinate vulnerability remediation, EDR/Defender protections, and least-privilege access (RBAC).
+ Maintain access control
COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:
+ 3–5+ years hands-on system administration in Microsoft-centric environments.
+ Strong troubleshooting across OS, network (basic switching/firewall), and application layers; PowerShell proficiency.
+ Experience owning Tier-3 escalations and producing KB/SOP content.
+ Experience with common switch and firewall vendors (Cisco/Meraki, HPE/Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, SonicWall) at a basic configuration level is a plus.
+ Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays
+ Available for after hours and on call assignments
+ Basic working knowledge of Windows server 2012/2019 environment/WAN Domain and all MS OS systems
+ Working knowledge of VMWare
+ Basic Understanding of SQL and configuration of SQL servers
Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000
