    How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

     

    Technical

    Operations (TechOps) is seeking a candidate who has aircraft maintenance, human

    factors and occupational safety experience, proven leadership skills, and

    possesses a high level of accountability for achieving strategic and

    operational results. The successful candidate will work with a

    cross-departmental team with a broad scope of responsibility in a complex

    environment. In addition, they should have the ability to work effectively at

    all levels of the organization.

     

    This

    position will report directly to the Manager, TechOps Field Safety &

    Investigations and is based in Atlanta.

    Summaryof responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

    + Partners with TechOps business units toimplement the human performance strategy to reduce the probability and severityof human error associated with maintenance tasks.

    + Partners with and supports TechOps businessunits to execute the safety strategy to reduce occupational safety riskassociated with maintenance tasks.

    + Builds relationships with TechOps businessunit managers to understand their needs and help determine strategic projectsto drive safety improvements and risk reduction initiatives.

    + Coordinates with the TechOps Safety, Securityand Environmental Compliance team to simplify programs and processes that willimprove the effectiveness of occupational safety, environmental compliance,security and human factors.

    + Leads a team of Field Safety Program Leaders& Program Managers that provide regional support to the TechOps maintenance& support business units.

    + Leads a team that is responsible for nearmiss, injury and damage investigations and communication of lessons learned.

    + Leads a team that completes field safety visitsto ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental programs.

    + Manages the Operations Safety Leader andSafety Representative program, including selection, training and oversight.

    + Utilizes data to determine where focusedimprovement efforts are needed and makes decisions on actions that need to betaken to better support frontline leaders and the workforce.

    + Teaches and coaches business unit managersand frontline leaders on safety leadership essential behaviors.

    + Serves as a change agent to develop newactions and programs to improve human performance.

    + Oversees the implementation of tools,processes and programs designed to reduce human error in their assigned area ofresponsibility.

    + Develops both strategic & tactical plans forField Safety based on operational and departmental need.

    What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

    + Must possess Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Powerplant certificate

    + Must have technical experience in aircraft, component, line, base and/or engine maintenance.

    + Strong analytical skills along with a technical background in aviation maintenance practices, organization, and procedures.

    + Candidates must possess five plus years of working knowledge of SMS

    + Ten plus years of experience in a highly technical or analytical role in aviation safety investigations or within aircraft maintenance

    + Must have experience in developing business cases for safety and human factors initiatives.

    + Strong process and project management skills required.

    + Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and orderliness in performing work assignments.

    + Ability to write technical information in easily understood terms and influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.

    + Must be a creative and innovative problem solver as well as a highly motivated, self-directed change agent.

    + Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex processes within cross-functional teams required.

    + Must be able to manage and execute multiple priorities in a timely manner.

    + Must have strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills to effectively communicate with all levels from front line to senior executives.

    + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite

    + Undergraduate degree in a related field or five years of management experience

    + (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.

    + Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

    + Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

    + Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

    + Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
