Overview
Bowhead seeks a Lead Software Integrator with software evaluation and integration skills to join our team supporting NIWC Atlantic. The software integrator will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.
Responsibilities
• Evaluates Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software for functionality, interoperability, compatibility and security.
• Makes recommendations to program leadership on proposed software solutions.
• Interacts with software vendors and attends software demos as required.
• Works in secure environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that meet strict security and compliance standards.
• Evaluates development, testing, and operational deployment environments to ensure all software components function seamlessly within mission-critical systems.
• Integrate software components, subsystems, and external interfaces into defense mission systems.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards.
• Conduct software integration and validation testing to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain detailed integration documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), configuration baselines, and version tracking.
• Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for secure software delivery.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement software fixes or enhancements.
• Ensure integrated systems meet program requirements for reliability, security, and scalability.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and readiness evaluations.
• Support software deployment and sustainment in classified and unclassified environments.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• COMPTIA Sec + or higher certification
• Minimum of 7 years experience
• Experience in Azure and Google Cloud
• Experience with KIV and KG encryption devices and data transport
• Experience designing and deploying workloads.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, CONUS and OCONUS
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a Secret clearance.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift, move, and position equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments, including on uneven or natural surfaces.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lean, crouch, twist, bend, and squat as needed to inspect or analyze network infrastructure.
• Must be able to work outdoors in deployed environments and perform duties in adverse weather conditions, including cold, rain, snow, and heat.
