The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing methods and processes from product start-up to production. This involves analyzing engineering designs, creating conceptual sketches, designing necessary tooling, and coordinating with outside vendors. This role will establish manufacturing and quality plans with outsourced vendors and drive improvements in product cost, quality, and performance using Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies. Additionally the process engineer shall participate in Technical Operations projects, including process validations and post-launch design changes, serving as the subject matter expert for microbiology consumable manufacturing.
This position reports to the Manager Technical Process Engineering and is part of the technical process engineering team located in West Sacramento site and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Investigate process, safety, and quality failures as part of a multifunctional team and drive to root cause for manufacturing of in-vitro diagnostic consumables.
+ Proficient in assessing risk (pFMEAs), perform validations (equipment, process, IQ/OQ/PQ/PPQ), and implement process changes for manufacturing of in-vitro diagnostic consumables.
+ Proficient in cross functional Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) funnel development or projects using Lean/Six Sigma tools and fostering cross-functional ideation for future technical advancements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering with 3+ years of related work experience.
+ Experience with basic statistical tools such as capability analysis, hypothesis testing, regression analysis.
+ Experience with developing pFMEAs, developing and executing process validations.
+ Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma tools such as 5S, Standard Work, 3P, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Clean room manufacturing
+ Familiarity with programming and/or software validation.
+ Computer Aided Design
+ Experience with ISO13485, FDA, and IVDR manufacturing systems.

The annual salary range for this role is $95k to $115k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
