    Hiring Range: $25.00 - $31.00/hr

Hours: Flexible within Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

    *This is a one-year grant-funded position.*

    Overview:

The Innovation Team is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to serve as the Love Your Block Fellow. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful implementation of Love Your Block grant projects by overseeing project management activities and tracking project metrics to measure impact and outcomes.

The Love Your Block (https://citiesofservice.jhu.edu/loveyourblock2021/) program supports community-led neighborhood revitalization projects across the country. The City of Durham was selected for the 2024-26 Love Your Block cohort for its proposal to focus on vacant land that can often be sites of littering and illegal dumping. This project will focus on recruiting neighborhood volunteers to clean up and reimagine these spaces from vacant and ignored land to community-designed neighborhood assets.

The Innovation Team (I-Team) works to solve Durham’s biggest challenges. Our team emphasizes data-driven and human-centered research to understand the causes and consequences of deeply rooted problems. This research serves as the foundation for collaboratively generating ideas, designing projects, testing interventions, and evaluating results. The Love Your Block project will be a collaboration between the I-Team and the Housing and Neighborhood Services department.
