As a **Security Officer - Logistics Access Control Specialist** in **Washington, DC** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help create a secure environment for people and property. Your presence and attention to detail will help to deter security-related incidents, while your strong communication skills will support positive interactions with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

+ Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized personnel.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols of the site and its perimeter to observe for unusual activity, security-related risks, and/or potential hazards.

+ Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by answering questions and providing directions in accordance with site-specific policies.

+ Report and document all observed incidents, suspicious activities, and/or breaches of protocols in a timely manner.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency procedures as needed.

+ Assist with the implementation and enforcement of access control policies and procedures specific to logistics and distribution operations.

+ Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to uphold security-related standards and expectations for the location.

Minimum Requirements:

+ A valid security-related guard card or license is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

+ A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
