    AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

     

    The position's responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day to day assistance with capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.

     

    You will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Deploy Technician, you will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of AWS’ vast network infrastructure, Network Deploy Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects

     

    Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles

     

    Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction

     

    Up to 30% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally

     

    Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords

     

    Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment

     

    Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware

     

    Moving and lifting computer equipment up to 40 lbs

    Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7

    Basic Qualifications

    - High school or equivalent diploma

     

    - 1+ year or experience in any of the following or similar technical or vocational roles: Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, Technical Project Management

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Data center experience Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+,)

     

    - Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment

     

    - Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters

     

    - Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls

     

    - Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
