    Description

    Act as an integral part of the WWGS North America Team by supporting Amazon and Whole Foods Market Private Brands Product Development (PD) and Sensory Work. Work with Product R&D Analyst and Sensory team members to oversee Seattle, WA Based kitchen facilities, inclusive of processes and operations model(s). Author, implement, and manage SOPs, log and organize incoming product samples, maintain order and appearance of the kitchen facilities, and support Product Development/Sensory activities for the team.

    Key job responsibilities

    * Manage the incoming requests from R&D Analyst/Sensory Team members, work with team members to establish priorities

    * Create formalized systems for development and product review and adhere to process

    * Manage test kitchen inventory of ingredients, supplies and order replacements as needed, including disposables, small wares and chemicals

    * Develop and execute preventative maintenance plan for test kitchen equipment including ovens, microwaves, scales and thermometers ensuring they are calibrated regularly

    * Manage and maintain the order and cleanliness of the kitchen facilities and corresponding appliances and small wares

    * Maintain all kitchen facilities policies and procedures for the team

    * Manage receiving and storage of samples in the test kitchen, unpacking boxes and logging in samples to database

    * Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and partners, including, but not limited to shipping and receiving, building maintenance to ensure operations are running smoothly and all equipment is in excellent working order

    * Oversee clean up, sanitization, and organization of test kitchen and sample storage as necessary

    * Assure accuracy and integrity of information by upholding WFM core values, quality and brand standards

    * Shop for and otherwise acquire samples from Amazon and Whole Foods Market stores as necessary

    Basic Qualifications

    - 1+ years of program or project management experience

    - Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

    - Associates Degree or B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Related Field

     

    - 1+ years’ experience working in Catering or Kitchen Management

     

    - Must be detail oriented and extremely organized; must be able to anticipate team needs

     

    - Must possess excellent communication skills and possess the ability to excel in team settings

     

    - Will have computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Understanding and experience in general food processing and laboratory techniques.

     

    - Product development and/or quality assurance experience preferred

     

    - A passion for food and strong culinary skills are a plus

     

    - Advanced Proficiency in typical Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, OneDrive)

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
