    We are seeking an experienced **Residential Living Manager** to oversee our **Substance Abuse Halfway House** program in Durham, NC. As the **Residential Living Manager** , you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the home runs smoothly — from staff management and client care to fostering community partnerships that empower our residents on their recovery journey.

     

    **Schedule:** Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM _(must be flexible for coverage when needed)_

    **Salary:** $42,000 – $47,000 annually _(higher range for candidates with a master’s degree or extensive experience)_

    **Reports To:** Executive Leadership Team

    Key Responsibilities

    **Staff Supervision:** Oversee day-to-day staff operations, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and — when necessary — disciplinary actions.

    **House Administration:** Manage admissions, review documentation for authorization/reauthorization, ensure timely and accurate progress notes, develop person-centered plans, and coach clients toward achieving their goals.

    **Client Interaction:** Build positive relationships with residents by facilitating activities and interventions, teaching life skills (budgeting, housekeeping, time management), assisting with job readiness, and supporting discharge or transition planning.

    **Community Engagement:** Develop and maintain partnerships with local organizations, employers, and community resources to support client success beyond the program.

    **Interdisciplinary Collaboration:** Work closely with the treatment team to advocate for clients, share updates, and ensure cohesive, coordinated care across all service areas.

    **Crisis & Coverage Management:** Be ready to step in and cover shifts or address urgent matters to maintain a safe and supportive environment for both residents and staff.

    Qualifications

    **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. _(Master’s degree preferred.)_

    **Certification:** Must meet North Carolina DHHS standards as a **Qualified Professional (QP)** .

    Experience:

    + Minimum 2–3 years in behavioral health, residential, or substance use disorder settings.

    + Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

    + **Skills:**

    + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.

    + Ability to balance administrative tasks with direct client engagement.

    + Team-oriented and flexible, with a hands-on approach to problem solving.

    Compensation & Benefits

    **Competitive salary:** $42,000 – $47,000
