As a Manufacturing Engineer based in Lafayette, IN, you will join a dynamic machine shop team dedicated to supporting large engine production within the heavy machinery industry. Your primary objective will be to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across our operations.
Responsibilities
+ Eliminate suspended load risks by implementing new lifting techniques.
+ Collaborate on safety incident prevention and corrective actions.
+ Introduce lifting devices to minimize manual handling of heavy parts.
+ Troubleshoot tooling and process issues using PFMEA, Power BI, and data analysis.
+ Improve deburring and de-rusting processes to enhance cycle time and product quality.
+ Interpret engineering drawings and reports to ensure standards are met.
+ Reduce machine cycle times through tooling and layout improvements.
+ Collaborate with suppliers to extend tool life and reduce costs.
+ Conduct time and motion studies to enhance production rates.
+ Create workflow diagrams, standard work instructions, and job aids.
+ Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the 3500 Block line.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in manufacturing engineering and manufacturing processes.
+ Proficiency in tooling techniques.
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Manufacturing or similar).
+ 1-2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficient in using PFMEA, Power BI, and data analysis tools.
+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical reports.
Work Environment
This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, first shift, with a total of 40 hours per week. The role is 100% onsite, with an estimated 60% of the time spent at a desk and 40% in the shop.

This is a Contract position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
